Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Advertising-related disclosures, opt-out requests, and the limits of currently verified privacy controls.
1. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
Privacy laws can define sale or sharing more broadly than receiving money for a customer list. Disclosing online identifiers or browsing information for cross-context advertising can fall within those definitions. Zene uses advertising and analytics integrations, so a claim that no personal information is sold or shared requires a documented assessment of the actual data flows, contracts, and provider settings.
This draft does not assert a verified no-sale/no-sharing classification for the preceding twelve months. The Privacy Policy describes the known categories of information and recipients. The final notice must state the applicable classification accurately rather than using “your data is not the product” as a substitute for analysis.
2. Submit an opt-out request
You may send a request to work@zenemusic.co with the subject “Do not sell or share”. Identify the Zene account if relevant and say whether your request concerns sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You do not need to purchase a plan or create a new account to submit a request. Do not include a government identity document, password, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Use any advertising privacy controls displayed by the service or its providers and the settings available on your device. Sending an email does not immediately set a browser flag or automatically block SDK traffic. An effective opt-out requires the request to be implemented across the applicable disclosures; the final service must provide legally sufficient, tested methods.
3. Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control is a browser or extension signal communicating an opt-out preference. Where applicable law requires recognition, the service must apply the signal to covered uses and associated data in the manner that law requires. Merely including the words “GPC honoured” on a page does not implement it.
Automatic GPC handling across Zene’s advertising and analytics stack has not been verified in the current implementation. This limitation is a release issue wherever signal recognition is required, not an exemption from the law. Clearing cookies can also remove stored preferences; controls need to account for subsequent visits and relevant signed-in account scope.
4. Other rights and protection from discrimination
An advertising opt-out is different from requesting access, correction, or deletion. Those requests may have separate procedures and proportionate verification requirements. Applicable laws may also provide rights concerning sensitive information, authorised agents, and appeals of a refused request.
Zene must not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising a protected right. A choice about optional advertising does not itself require account deletion. Additional rules can apply to minors and known children; an adult account statement is not permission to disregard actual knowledge of a child’s use.
