Account and Data Deletion

Requesting account removal, cancelling a pending request, and understanding separate storage and billing obligations.

1. Request account deletion

In a supported Zene application, open your profile or settings, choose Delete account, and complete the confirmation steps. A successful response schedules the account for deletion and the interface shows a date. If the action fails or no confirmation is shown, do not assume the request was received.

You can also email work@zenemusic.co with the subject “Delete my Zene account”, preferably from the email linked to the account. If that address is no longer accessible, explain the issue and ask for an alternative verification method. Do not include a password, one-time code, full payment-card number, or unnecessary identity document. There is no need to repurchase Premium to request deletion.

2. Fifteen-day cancellation period

The in-app flow schedules deletion fifteen days after a successful request. During that period, use the displayed Keep my account or cancellation control if you change your mind. Merely signing in is not described as automatically cancelling deletion; check the account’s displayed deletion status.

When the deadline passes, the backend deletion process can begin. The deadline is not a guarantee that all copies disappear at that exact moment. A failed or interrupted process may require additional handling. Statutory deadlines and urgent child-safety obligations continue to apply and are not extended merely because the product offers a cancellation period.

3. Information within the deletion request

The request concerns the Zene account and information associated with it, including its profile, saved playlists and likes, listening history, registered devices, and uploaded account images. A final completion statement must account for all relevant stores, providers, family or legacy records, and contributions associated with the account, rather than only the primary user row.

The current implementation has a scheduled database purge, but complete cleanup of external identity records, all uploaded files, legacy or family records, and analytics or other processor records has not been verified by this review. The draft therefore does not promise complete erasure after exactly fifteen days. Contact Zene for the status and scope of your request.

4. Retention and independent copies

Some information may need to be retained for a specific legal obligation, a documented fraud or security purpose, or the establishment or defence of a legal claim. Any exception should be limited to the information and period actually necessary. It is not a general right to keep a usable account forever after deletion.

Backup copies and processor-held information need their own deletion procedures and limits. The final notice must identify the relevant categories or retention criteria. Copies independently held by other users, publishers, stores, or services are outside Zene’s direct control, but that does not remove obligations to notify recipients or processors where the law requires it.

5. Local storage, identity providers, and subscriptions

Clearing a device cache or uninstalling the application removes some local information but does not request removal of the online account. Conversely, requesting online deletion does not automatically clear every device or remove content another person has independently copied.

Deleting Zene does not delete your Google or Apple account. You may separately revoke third-party access in the identity provider’s account settings. Revocation is different from requesting deletion of information already held by Zene, and may affect your ability to sign in.

Account deletion does not automatically cancel Google Play or App Store billing. Cancel renewal with the store where you paid and keep the confirmation. A deletion request must still be considered if a billing dispute or active subscription exists.

6. Partial requests and follow-up

You may request correction or deletion of particular information without requesting account closure where the applicable right and feature allow it. Explain the information concerned and the outcome requested. Some core information is needed to maintain an account, and Zene should explain when fulfilling a request means a feature can no longer be provided.
